As Founder and Managing Director, Gadi Behar brings 25 years of business and management experience to Silicom Ventures, LLC. During the last seven years as Managing Director of Silicom Ventures, Gadi has been engaged in business planning, development, financial, recruiting and fundraising work for a variety of Silicon Valley and Israel-based startups - particularly in semiconductor, life sciences, software and information technologies. Under his leadership, Silicom Ventures has grown to be the largest global business forum in the United States. At Silicom Ventures Gadi organizes events, symposiums and seminars with Red Herring, Fortune Magazine and other major organizations. Guest speakers in these events and in the monthly meetings include prominent dignitaries - from Former Defense Secretary William Perry, Congresswoman Anna Eschoo, business leaders Tom Siebel and Dona Dubinsky to legendary Venture Capitalists Tim Draper and Vinod Khosla. Eli Sternheim has more than 25 years of experience in engineering, management, entrepreneurship, business and investment. He received his B.Sc. in EE from the Technion in 1969, and his M.Sc. and Ph.D. in EE from Carnegie Mellon University in 1971 and 1974, respectively. Dr. Sternheim worked at the Westinghouse R&D center before moving to Silicon Valley. Here he has worked for a few startups, such as Trilogy, Zoran and Nexgen (later went public and was acquired by AMD). In 1991 Dr. Sternheim co-founded interHDL, a software electronic design automation (EDA) company where he was the president and CEO. He wrote the book "Digital Design and Synthesis with Verilog HDL" and served as the chairman of the Architectural Committee for Open Verilog International (OVI). In 1998, interHDL was sold to Avant! corporation. Since 1995 Dr. Sternheim has been investing in high-tech startups and currently holds a portfolio of a few dozen companies. He serves on the advisory board of Odesk and RunTime Design Automation. In 1999, he joined Redwood VP as a Venture Partner.

Dan Maydan is a member of Silicom Ventures advisory board. Dan Maydan is President Emeritus of Applied Materials and a member of the Board of Directors, an appointment he has held since 1992. He has been President of the company from 1994 to April, 2003. At Applied, Mr. Maydan spearheaded the innovation and commercialization of critical processing technologies for semiconductor manufacturing. His work has been inducted into the Smithsonian Institution as part of its collection of breakthrough technologies, which have helped shape society and the modern world. Dan Maydan received his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in electrical engineering from Technion, the Israel Institute of Technology, and his Ph.D. in physics from Edinburgh University in Scotland. He is also a recipient of Honorary Doctor degrees from both the Technion and Edinburgh University.
Amos Barzilay is a member of Silicom Ventures advisory board. Dr. Barzilay is a General Partner in Walden International Investment, a Venture Capital firm with approximately $2.1 billion in assets under management. Prior to joining Walden Amos Barzilay was Vice President & General Manager, Content and Supplier Solutions in Commerce One. Dr. Barzilay joined Commerce One as part of Commerce One's acquisition of Mergent Systems in January 2000. Dr. Barzilay was a co-founder, chairman, and CEO of Mergent Systems, a business-to-business e-commerce infrastructure start-up. Prior to Mergent, Dr. Barzilay held a variety of senior management positions including General Manager of C*ATS Software, a leader in financial risk management applications, and Worldwide Director of Industry Marketing at Informix, focusing on data warehousing and vertical markets including finance, manufacturing, retail and telecommunications. Dr. Barzilay has an engineering degree from the Technion in Israel and a M.B.A. and Ph.D. degree from the University of Pittsburgh. Amazia Ben-Artzi is a member of Silicom Ventures advisory board. Mr. Ben-Artzi is a well-known pioneer in the networking industry with more than 25 years of successful engineering and management experience. He co-founded NetManage, serving in various executive roles as Chief Architect, Vice President of Engineering, and Vice President of Business Development. Under Amatzia's leadership, NetManage ranked number one of the "100 Fastest Growing Companies" by Business Week for two consecutive years. As Vice President of Technology for Synoptics, Amatzia was in charge of software development. As the director of network architecture at 3Com, Amatzia architected the Network Management initiative across all of 3Com's divisions to unite their network architectures. He also participated in revolutionary networking industry initiatives including the definition of NetBios, NetBios over TCP (RFC 1001) and SNMP. He began his computer career in 1975 at Control Data, where he designed the first network-based file transfer protocol between mainframes. Amatzia holds a bachelor's degree in mathematics from Tel-Aviv University, and a master's degree in computer science from California State University San Jose.
Amir Makleff is a member of Silicom Ventures advisory board. Prior to founding BridgeWave Communications, Amir served as Chief Operating Officer and Senior Vice President of R&D and engineering at Netro Corporation, a technology and market leader in broadband wireless systems. Under his leadership, Netro's highly successful broadband wireless point-to-multipoint product called AirStar was developed and launched. Prior to Netro, Amir served as general manager and vice president of engineering for the Access Division of Telco Systems. While at Telco Systems, Amir managed the conception and development of the Access60 platform. Before joining Telco, Amir held senior engineering, operations, and marketing management positions at Nortel, Telestream, and Amdahl Communications. Amir received BSEE and MSEE degrees from the Technion in Israel.
Eli Pasternak is a member of Silicom Ventures advisory board. Mr. Pasternak is the co-founder,Senior VP and CTO of BridgeWave Communications, wireless point to multi-point systems. Previously, Mr. Pasternak served as chief technical officer, chief scientist, and co-founder of Netro Corporation, broadband wireless systems. While at Netro, Mr. Pasternak was responsible for the IP-related functionality of both the AirMAN and AirStar products. He also authored five core-technology patents in the area of wireless ATM and its associated MAC layer. Prior to joining Netro, Mr. Pasternak was co-founder of Telestream, a telecommunications networking company, and a technology consultant for a range of disciplines including medical electronics, wireless, microwave products, communications products, system architecture, and food processing. He received BSEE and MSEE degrees from the Technion in Israel.
Linda S. Law is a member of Silicom Ventures advisory board. Her nationally recognized company is one of the only women-owned real estate development firms developing institutional-quality projects in the United States. Law & Associates recently completed University Circle, a large Class A mixed-use office/hotel project in East Palo Alto which includes a Four Seasons Hotel. Prior to forming Law & Associates, Ms. Law worked as a corporate real estate consultant to many high tech companies advising on their real estate requirements and undertaking site selection, land acquisition, leasing and campus development. Among others, her clients included Hewlett-Packard, Sun Microsystems, Cisco Systems, Chiron/Novartis and Abbott Laboratories. Ms. Law is an alumnus of University of California, Berkeley and the Harvard Graduate School of Design. She is actively involved in several business and non-profit organizations including fundraising for Lick-Wilmerding High School and fundraising for The Level Playing Field Institute. She is a member of the UC Berkeley's Real Estate Advisory Board as well as a board member of the Harvard Design Magazine. She is also the founding member of the Harvard Real Estate Center and Vice Chairman of the Harvard Real Estate International Advisory Board. Ms. Law lectures at UC Berkeley and Harvard University.
Dr.
Daniel Ruben is a member of Silicom Ventures advisory board. Most recently
he was at Aurec Capital in Israel where he was Managing Director of Fastercures-Israel,
an organization that globally engaged in translating biological research
into clinical therapies. He served as a Venture Partner at the Yozma Group,
one of the first Israeli VC firms, where he was responsible for life sciences
investments in Yozma III, and advised Ofer Bros. Ltd., one of Israel’s
largest conglomerates, and NAIOT, a technology incubator regarding their
investments in medical device and biotech companies. Spencer Greene is a member of Silicom Ventures advisory board. Spencer Greene joined Juniper Networks in 1999 through the acquisition of Layer Five Inc., an intellectual property development and licensing company he co-founded, and serves as Vice President of Corporate Development. In this role, he is responsible for Juniper Networks' mergers and acquisitions, equity investments, and creation of new strategic partnerships. Prior to this, Greene was Vice President of Product Management for Juniper Networks' IP core and edge router product lines. During his seven years with the company, Greene has also led a number of engineering development teams. Prior to Layer Five, Greene was in the semiconductor and personal computer industries, holding marketing and engineering positions. Greene also worked in Yokogawa Electric's research laboratories in Tokyo, Japan. Greene holds bachelor's degrees in Electrical Engineering and French from Rice University, as well as a master's degree in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University. He also holds numerous patents in the networking and graphics acceleration fields.
Kumar Sripadam is a member of Silicom Ventures advisory board. Kumar is a veteran technology entrepreneur and has held many senior roles. He is actively involved in many early stage companies as a business and technology consultant. He is a principal and co-founder of Outdu.com. Most recently he was a Vice President for Strategic Marketing and Business Development at Righttag Inc, Santa Clara, CA. Prior to that he was the Founder, CEO and VP of Marketing & Business Development of Bluewave Networks. He has 18 years of experience in the high technology sector such as software, systems, internet and e-commerce. Mr. Sripadam was a member of the founding team at Redback Networks, a successful Networking company where he made key contributions to Systems and Hardware. Mr. Sripadam is on the Advisory Board of Paravirtual (Accenia), Zafesoft, Heavy Medical Systems (MedSimple), SkyVenture (iFly) Hollywood, Infinity Systems International etc. He is a Charter Member of TIE-SV. He is also active in many other Silicon Valley professional organizations. He holds an MSEE from Southern Illinois University. He is a member of the honor society of Phi Kappa Phi.
Tal Behar is the executive director of Silicom Ventures since January 2001. Tal has extensive experience in event organization and production. Under her leadership Silicom Ventures launched over 130 high technology events located in Silicon Valley and abroad. Tal was instrumental in helping Silicom Ventures grow from 25 to over 250 members. Tal's duties as Silicom Ventures' Executive Director involve marketing, business development, and operations - and often she is the voice of Silicom Ventures to some of the most prominent players in the investment, business and political worlds. Prior to Silicom Ventures Tal was a Law student at Tel Aviv University in Israel. Previously she was a senior officer in the IDF for over three years.
Eran Geller is a member of Silicom Ventures advisory board. Dr. Geller is Professor of Anesthesia and Surgery at Stanford University School of Medicine. Professor Geller is board certified in Anesthesiology (residency at the Massachusetts General hospital in Boston). He is a former Professor and Chairman of the Department of Anesthesia and Intensive Care at the Tel Aviv Medical Center in Tel Aviv. Dr. Geller holds a BSEE from Wayne State University, MSEE (Bio-Med) and MD from Northwestern University in Chicago. Dr. Jonathan Trent is a member of Silicom Ventures advisory board. Dr. Trent is a Senior Scientist at NASA Ames Research Center. After receiving his Ph.D. in Biological Oceanography at Scripps Institution of Oceanography, Dr. Trent spent six years in Europe at the Max Planck Institute for Biochemistry in Germany, the University of Copenhagen in Denmark, and the University of Paris at Orsay in France. He returned to the U.S.A. to work at the Boyer Center for Molecular Medicine at Yale Medical School for two years before establishing a biotechnology group at Argonne National Laboratory. In 1998 he moved to NASA Ames Research Center to be part of NASA’s Astrobiology program and established the Protein Nanotechnology Group in 1999. In addition to working at NASA, he is an Adjunct Professor in the Dept. of Biomolecular Engineering at UC Santa Cruz and is a Fellow of the California Academy of Sciences.
Raffy Chatav is a member of Silicom Ventures advisory board. Mr. Chatav is the Founder, CEO and President of Interro Systems, Inc. a developer, manufacturer and marketer of automotive diagnostic equipment. From 1989 to 1992 Mr. Chatav founded and served as Executive VP, Director of Edge Diagnostic Systems, a company involved in the automotive diagnostic equipment market. The company was eventually sold to Snap-On / Sun Electric. In 1980 Mr. Chatav co-founded DAISY Systems in the EDA industry and served as Sr. VP Corporate Officer. Mr. Chatav holds an MBA from California State Univ. Northridge and a BSEE from the TECHNION Israel Institute of Technology.
Shlomo Waser is a member of Silicom Ventures advisory board. Mr. Waser is a veteran executive with more than 30 years experience in the high tech industry. His background includes engineering, marketing and general management as well as strategic acquisitions and equity investments. One of his equity investments led to over 20X return to the corporate investor. He managed global business units as large as $220M annual revenues as well as managing groups up to 170 people located around the globe. Currently he is an independent consultant to startup companies. His other experience includes Oak technology where he was the SVP & GM of the company largest business unit. He had a similar position at Zilog. Previously he was the VP and general manager of a business unit at Philips, which he grew from $24M to $220M annual revenues. Prior to Philips he held marketing positions at AMD and MMI. In addition to BSEE and MSEE he also received a graduate degree in computer engineering from Stanford University. He co-authored a book on computer arithmetic and was a visiting scholar at Stanford University.
Israel Niv is a member of Silicom Ventures advisory board. Dr. Niv was the founder and CEO of start-ups, a founder and GM of a company he took public and a Vice-President in a fortune 200 company. In Late 1998, Israel co-founded and became the Chairman of Optonics, a provider of transistor level probing systems. Israel sold Optonics to credence Systems in late 2002 and served as a president and GM of the Diagnostics business Group (DCG) that grew from $2M in 2001 to $18.5M in 2004. In May of 1999, Israel co-founded BeyondWork, an on-line provider of employee benefits. BeyondWork raised $15M during the Internet high days and served over 4000 companies. In 1986, Dr. Niv co-founded Opal Inc., a semiconductor equipment metrology company. Israel served as the VP of R,D&E, later as the GM & Executive VP of Sales and Marketing. From 1994 he served on Opal's Board of Directors, and was part of a 3-man team that took Opal public in May 1995. Dr. Niv became a VP at Applied Materials, when it acquired Opal Inc. in late 1996. Israel was responsible for the sales, marketing and business development of the Process Diagnostics group (PDC) (over $150M in annual sales). Israel received his B.Sc. in Chemistry (Summa Cum Laude), and a Ph.D. in Chemical Physics from Ben-Gurion University of the Negev. From 1982 to 1985 he worked as a Weitzmann Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Southern California (USC). In 1992, Israel completed the AEA/Stanford Executive Institute for Management of High-Technology Companies. Dr. Niv is a board member of Jordan valley - a semiconductor Metrology company, serves on a board of PGSP - an academic institution and is an advisor to several start-ups. Merry R. Sherman, a member of Silicom Ventures advisory board, is the CEO and President of Mountain View Pharmaceuticals, Inc., of which she was a co-founder with Dr. Mark Saifer and Dr. L. David Williams. She was a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Wellesley College in Chemistry and received an M.A. in Biochemistry and a Ph.D. in Biophysics from the University of California at Berkeley. Following post-doctoral fellowships in Polymer Research at the Weizmann Institute of Science (mentored by the late Aharon Katzir) and in Biochemistry at the National Institutes of Health, she directed research in Endocrine Biochemistry at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. She also served as a Professor of Biochemistry at Rutgers University in New Jersey before entering the pharmaceutical industry. Dr. Sherman’s publications are in the fields of biophysics, molecular endocrinology, cancer research and neuroscience. She is an inventor on two issued and six pending U.S. patents and foreign counterparts. She is a member of the American Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, The Endocrine Society, the American Association for Cancer Research, the Society for Neuroscience, the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists and the Association for Women in Science.
Mark G.P. Saifer, a member of Silicom Ventures advisory board, has been the Scientific Director and a Vice President of Mountain View Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (MVP) since 1996. He received an A.B. in Natural Sciences from the University of Pennsylvania and a Ph.D. in Biophysics from the University of California at Berkeley. Following postdoctoral research in the Department of Bacteriology and Immunology at Berkeley, he did research in the Department of Viral Oncology at Roswell Park Memorial Institute in Buffalo, NY. About 30 years ago, Dr. Saifer began to develop improved technology for coupling polymers such as poly (ethylene glycol) (PEG) to drugs, together with Dr. L. David Williams. Their discovery of the negative impact of conventional PEGylation on the activity of one enzyme, superoxide dismutase, led to their recognition of the advantages of using higher molecular weight polymers for enhancing the pharmaceutical properties of a wide variety of therapeutic proteins. Prior to founding MVP, together with Dr. Williams and Dr. Merry Sherman, Dr. Saifer was the Scientific Director and a Vice President of DDI Pharmaceuticals in Mountain View, CA. He is an inventor on 16 issued and six pending U.S. patents, with foreign counterparts, relating to enzymes, cytokines and other therapeutic proteins, viruses, polymers and polymer conjugates.
Dr. Naveh recently retired from Bayer after 15 years as VP and Chief Technical Officer of Bayer Biological Products, Worldwide. Prior to Bayer Corporation, Dr. Naveh was Director of Biotech Operations at Centocor from 1988 to 1992., and previous to that(84-88) held production and process development positions at Schering Plough . David Naveh participated in the development and commercialization of a number of FDA approved drugs including: Intron, Reopro, Remicaid, Myoscint, Centoxin, Kogenate, and Kogenate-FS. He currently holds seven patents including first authorship of key GM-CSF and IL-4 patents. He is a graduate of Technion in Haifa, Israel in Food Engineering(1980). He received a Ph.D. in Biochemical Engineering and an M.B.A. from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis in 1982. From 1982-1984, he was an Assistant Professor (tenure track) at the University of Wisconsin, Madison where he taught plant design and biophysical chemistry. He has authored over 30 peer reviewed papers and is on the editorial board of "Bioseparations." Dr. Naveh has been on BOD's of public (DSCO, BNVI) and private companies since 1995 . David is passionate about Higher Education in Israel, windsurfing ,and gourment dining. David is highly involved in the Israeli Biotech scene, where he recently championed a half billion dollar deal between Bayer and a privately held Biotech startup called Zilip. Laurence
Marton is a member of Silicom Ventures Advisory Board. Dr. Marton is presently
Chief Scientific Officer of Cellgate. He joined Cellgate in 2004 when
Cellgate merged with SLIL Biomedical Corporation. Dr. Marton co-founded
SLIL, and served as a director and its Chief Scientific and Medical Officer.
SLIL focused on the discovery and development of novel polyamine analog
and other compounds for the treatment of cancer and other serious diseases.
Dr. Marton was previously Dean of the University of Wisconsin-Madison
Medical School, and prior to that was Chairman of the Department of Laboratory
Medicine at UCSF. As a leading expert with extensive experience in the
fields of cell growth and drug development, his work is focused on the
use of polyamines in treating human diseases related to cell growth, including
cancer and infectious diseases. His research has resulted in more than
170 original publications, 60 scientific reviews and chapters, four books,
and numerous patents, and his work has been acknowledged internationally.
Dr. Marton serves as a consultant for industry, governmental and academic
institutions. He serves on the Board of the Foundation for Cardiovascular
and Transplant Research, and was appointed by the Governor of Wisconsin
to the Wisconsin Technology Council. Dr. Marton received his M.D. from
the Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
Nir Zuk is a member of Silicom Ventures Advisory Board. He was responsible for the technology in Juniper's security products. Zuk has joined Juniper through the $4B acquisition of NetScreen Technologies where he was Chief Technology Officer. Zuk came to NetScreen through the acquisition of OneSecure, the inventor of Intrusion Prevention, where he was co-founder and CTO. Prior to OneSecure, Zuk was Principal Engineer at Check Point Software Technologies. Throughout his career, Zuk has invented numerous network security technologies that today can be found in most network security products. These include the flow-based stateful-inspection firewall, high-availability for firewalls and stateful-signatures for intrusion detection and prevention.
Israel Beinglass is a member of the advisory board of Silicom Ventures. Dr. Beinglass has over 25 years of diversified experience in the semiconductor manufacturing and semiconductor equipment industry in a variety of executive roles. He is currently an independent consultant working with several semiconductor equipment companies in the areas of strategy, industry road map, marketing and new applications. Dr. Beinglass involved in numerous M&A activities where he plays a key role in identifying needs and follows through on the M&A process to completion. He is an angel investor and is serving on the BOD of several start ups. Dr. Beinglass joined Applied Materials (NASDAQ:AMAT) in 1989 and served in a variety of executive roles in the company some of them are: General Manager of the High Temperature Films Group (HTF), Managing Director and CTO for the Front End Equipment Group, and the CTO of Applied Materials global service Group. Dr. Beinglass was involved in numerous successful M&A transactions and was a member of Applied Materials Strategy and Marketing councils. Before joining Applied Materials, Dr. Beinglass worked at Intel Corporation (NASDAQ:INTC) and IMP (NASDAQ:IMPX) in various positions, including process development manager and engineering manager of Fab operations. While working at Intel he was the co-inventor of the selective tungsten deposition. Dr. Beinglass holds a PhD from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in Materials Science and is the holder of 28 US patents with several pending.
Jacob Dayan is a member of Silicom Ventures advisory board. Mr. Dayan is a 30 year veteran of the Semiconductor industry. Jacob most recent employment was at Equator Technologies Inc. where he served as Chief Operating Officer and Vice President of Operations. Before joining Equator Technologies Inc. in October 2000, Jacob was Vice President at Zoran Corporations PixelCam Division. Prior to Zoran, he was Senior Director of Component Manufacturing Operations for Xilinx. He joined Xilinx Inc. in 1994, with responsibilities covering Xilinx post-wafer fabrication manufacturing operations. Prior to Xilinx, Jacob spent 2 years in Penang, Malaysia as Managing Director of Read-Rite Co. where he managed a manufacturing plant of Headstack Assembly and Testing for Hard Disk drives. In 1991 Jacob joined Paradigm Technology as Vice President of Operations. Paradigm Technology is a maker of high speed SRAM devices. Jacob graduated from the University of California at Berkeley in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. Jacob has presented several technical papers at Semicon, Meptec and ITPC conferences.
Joseph Bach is a member of Silicom Ventures advisory board. Mr. Bach is a partner at Partner, Nixon Peabody LLP's Silicon Valley office. He has more than a decade of legal experience in all aspects of intellectual property law, including patent prosecution and litigation. Joseph has developed methodologies for, and counsels clients on, efficiently building and managing effective patent portfolios. Joseph has successfully handled and managed cases in a broad range of technologies and has litigation experience before the International Trade Commission and federal courts. Joseph was formerly Senior Director of Intellectual Property at Applied Materials, where he was responsible for all aspects of the company's intellectual property internationally. He hold a law degree from the Duke University School of Law and a B.S. Engineering and Applied Science from California Institute of Technology (Caltech).
Yigal Brandman is a member of Silicom Ventures advisory board. Mr. Brandman is the Founder and President of Phonetact Inc. Previously, Mr. Brandman performed consulting in the DSP and communications areas. In prior positions, Mr. Brandman served as Vice President of Engineering at DSP Group, Manager of DSP and System Architect at Octel Communications(now Lucent),Director of Product Planning and Product Development at Zoran Corporation and Principal Engineer and Manager of Product Development for Motorola Inc-Israel. Dr. Brandman received his B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from the Technion, Israel. He received his MS in Electrical Engineering & Computer Science at Arizona State University, and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering at Stanford University. Dr. Brandman holds more then 17 US and international patents.
Ram Banin is a member of Silicom Ventures advisory board. Ram is a serial
entrepreneur and a corporate executive specializing in ‘Just In
Time’ Software production. He has extensive experience in rapidly
defining, developing and bringing to market highly ‘sellable’
software products. In recent years, he is providing ‘hands on’
active management coaching, interim management, and business development
support for both emerging and established software companies in the US
and Israel. Ram also serves as Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Global Catalyst
Partners, an early stage venture capital fund.
Raphael Klein is a member of Silicom Ventures advisory board, a private investor, and currently involved in studies of technology transfer from university to industry. From 1978 to 2000 he was CEO of Xicor, Inc. (Integrated Circuits). Prior to Xicor, Mr. Klein was Technology Development Manager in Intel Corp. Between 1975 to 1976 he was Technology Development Manager at Fairchild Semiconductors. Before that, Mr. Klein was Process Engineering Manager at National Semiconductors Corp. From 1971 to 1974 he was Process Engineering Manager at Monolithic Memories Inc. Previous to Monolithic Memories, Mr. Klein was Technology Development Engineer at Tadiran Semiconductors (Tel Aviv, Israel). Mr. Klein has B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Physics from the Technion Israel Institute of Technology.
Dan Kikinis is a member of Silicom Ventures advisory board. Dan Kikinis is the Chief Intellectual Property Officer of iSurfTV. Mr. Kikinis has more than 20 years of experience in the development of high-technology products and intellectual property, with more than 250 registered patents worldwide in technology areas such as PCs, Net/Web, networks, and systems. Before joining iSurfTV, Mr. Kikinis was founder and President of Lextron Systems, where he helped develop intellectual property strategy as a basis for strategic technology claims for several enterprises, most notably Genesys Telecommunications Labs, Inc., in 2000 acquired by Alcatel. Prior to founding Lextron Systems, Mr. Kikinis was President of Elonex Technologies, with a mission to deliver best-in-class systems and raw patent technology in the general field of PC computing. In addition to designing award-winning PCs, as well as Enterprise Software, he filed and participated in filing for more than 500 patents, some of which are now widely licensed. He received a BS in Electronic Engineering and an MS in Computer Sciences from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich.
Doron Simon is a member of Silicom Ventures advisory board. Mr. Simon has held numerous operational and customers support positions as well as sales management in Tower Semiconductors Ltd. since it’s inception in 1993 till 2001. Since April 2001 He served as President of Tower Semiconductor USA, Inc. and Corporate VP Marketing, overseeing the foundries sales, marketing and business development activities world wide till 2006. Prior to this phase Mr. Simon was employed by National Semiconductor in various planning and production control management positions. Recently Mr. Simon has joined a new start up in the embedded controls domain. Mr. Simon holds an MBA from Heriot-Watt Business School, Edinburgh, UK and B.Sc. in Industrial Engineering from the Technion, Israel. Christopher-John "CJ" Cornell, Ph.D.
Professor of Digital Media & Entrepreneurship Walter Cronkite School of Journalism, Arizona State University EIR, Knight Center for Digital Media Entrepreneurship CJ Cornell is Kauffman Professor of Digital Media Entrepreneurship at the Cronkite School of Journalism at ASU, and Entrepreneur-in-Residence at the Knight Center for Digital Media Entrepreneurship. CJ brings over 20 years experience as a veteran media industry executive and entrepreneur, with a long history of creating and marketing products in cable television, broadband, and other consumer media platforms. From 2001-2004 Dr. Cornell was CEO at Chaos Media Networks, a Cable Television network focused on Video on Demand. CJ was recently SVP Programming and Product Management at Ruckus Networks, the largest music & video network for colleges. Prior, CJ was EVP of global wireless provider MobileWay, and head of Business Development at the technology arm of media giant Canal+/Universal Television. He has worked with companies such as Disney, Comcast, Time Warner, Sony, Microsoft and Sun, and founded four pioneering ventures in interactive television and video-on-demand. CJ's strategies, techniques and technologies in media and behavioral programming are being used by some of the largest media companies in the world today. CJ Cornell holds degrees in engineering, management and a Ph.D. in marketing and strategy. CJ is a member of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, serves as a board member or advisor to six digital media ventures, a popular university lecturer on media, venture capital and entrepreneurship and is the author of numerous published academic and business articles on business, technology and media.
