On February 20th, Silicom Venture hosted its first
Wireless Symposium in partnership with Heller Ehrman Law Firm.
This event provided a unique opportunity for industry
specialists and investors to gain insight into the latest challenges that
exist in the fixed wireless industry,
its future markets, infrastructure
and leading technologies.
Over 175 people attended the event and among them were
representatives from corporations such as Motorola Ventures, Sprint, and
Broadcom.

Zvi Schechter speaker on June 11th 2002
Mr. Schechter is a Co-Founder and Managing Director of the Giza Venture Fund. On June 11th Zvi Schechter will speak about development of the Software and Storage sectors with a focus on the Israeli aspects, . Prior to founding Giza Ventures, he served as Chief Analyst and Head of Research of Leumi & Co. Investment Bankers, Ltd. Mr. Schechter has extensive experience in investing and advising companies on an array of business issues. He has served as a director of a number of companies, and is a frequent lecturer at management seminars. Mr. Schechter holds an MBA in Finance (magna cum laude) from Tel Aviv University, and a B.Sc. in Economics and Management (magna cum laude) from the Technion, Israel's premier institution for technology.
Prof. Abraham D. Sofaer speaker on September 3rd, 2002
Prof. Sofaer is currently a George P. Shultz a Distinguished Scholar & Senior Fellow, at The Hoover Institution (Stanford University). Between 1985-90 he was a legal adviser to the U.S. Department of State. Amoung his responsibilities he helped negotiate the; settlement of dispute over Taba (Egypt/Israel), Claims for deaths at Ras Burga (Egypt/Israel/U.S.). In 1988, he received the Distinguished Service Award from the Department of State. From 1979-85 Prof. Sofaer was a United States District Judge of the Southern District of New York. He handled several high-profile cases, including the libel actions against Time magazine by then Israeli general and current prime minister, Ariel Sharon. Prof. Sofaer has written several articles and a book on topics such as "Foreign Affairs, and Constitutional Power", "Convention on Cyber Crime and Terrorism", and "Problematic Sovereignty".
On September 3rd, Prof. Sofaer will speak about Cyber Crime and Terrorism.
