You will be part of a fast paced, dynamic team in a startup that is developing cutting edge Analog verification tools. Individuals should have a strong desire to learn and explore new technologies and should be able to demonstrate good analysis and problem solving skills. Responsible for designing, developing, debugging and testing software programs for the analog verification platform. Includes working with the team in determining a sound optimal solution within a software architecture implementation, writing test plans and tests, debugging and tuning of the solution. Responsible for individual work as well as collaborating on projects.
Requirements/Qualifications :
· BS/MS with 1-5 years relevant experience in programming software with C/C++ on UNIX/Linux platforms.
· Prior knowledge and experience of software development for EDA applications is required.
· Proficiency in design and coding skills in the context of a large software system and working knowledge of C++/OOD is essential.
· An understanding of all aspects and phases of the software development process is required.
· Familiarity with Circuit simulators like HSpice, Spectre and experience of the Analog Design Environment is desirable.
· Scripting expertise in PERL, TCL, Python, Shell, etc. is a plus.
· Excellent communication skills, the ability to work in a team environment, and good interpersonal skills are required.

Position Description:
Excellent Opportunity for experienced, self-motivated, applications engineer based in Silicon Valley. As an Applications Engineer in support of OPAL, (a comprehensive analog verification platform for high speed interfaces), you will be a key contributor to the success of Knowlent. You will be responsible to drive and increase the deployment of the platform working closely with the Account teams and technical resources. Desire for hands-on involvement with the most advanced tools on leading-edge projects is required. Management opportunities are possible for the right candidate if desired. Minimum 3 to 5 years experience required supporting backend tools, with excellent customer references.
Responsibilities Include:
· Provide technical expertise for the software in pre-sales and post-sales situations
· Demonstrate the value we bring to our customers by:
o Helping Account teams identify and qualify the match-up between accounts needs and software products
o Manage and coordinate the technical relationships between customers and Account team, product marketing and R&D.
o Develop and deliver software demonstrations and technical presentations.
o Assist customers in their evaluations of Mentor Graphics' software
o Perform benchmarks for customers.
Qualifications:
· B.S. and M.S (or equivalent experience) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Microelectronics or related discipline.
Experience:
· 2 - 5 years experience in Analog or Mixed Signal Simulation or Verification IP (ie: hspice, Denali, Verisity)
· Previous experience as an EDA applications engineer is desirable
Skills:
· Excellent oral and written English
· Ability to interface effectively with customers, R&D engineers, and management
· UNIX/LINUX tool familiarity (PERL, shell scripts, Tcl/Tk).
· Familiarity with mixed-mode IC Design including:
o Digital core verification and associated verification (STA)
o Serial interface analog blocks including standard interfaces (PCIe, SATA, etc.) and use of Spice to carry out associated simulation tasks
o Back-end design verification (layout extraction, package modeling)
o Post-Silicon lab testing (including I/O measurements such as jitter, BER, etc.)
