Laser Bubble Technologies develops miniature (less than 1mm) engines that convert laser energy into mechanical energy for applications in heart surgery and inkjet printers. The company has closed its seed round of $250K from Silicom Ventures member investors. In addition the company received a government (SBIR) grant which brings $70K in phase one and potentially another $750K in phase two. The funds will be used to build a prototype and provide proof of concept before going to raise round A from VCs in about six months.
