MODERATOR BIOGRAPHY
 
Mark Boslet, Journalist, TechPulse360, is a long time financial and high-tech journalist stationed in Silicon Valley. He has written for newspapers including, The Wall Street Journal, the San Jose Mercury News, The Times Union of Jacksonville Florida and The Waterbury (CT) Republican-American. His digital news experience includes the Dow Jones Newswires, where he was Silicon Valley bureau chief. During the heyday of the dot-com boom, Mark was a senior writer at The Industry Standard. He is presently publishing his own clean-tech blog, TechPulse 360.
 
PANELIST BIOGRAPHIES
 
Bob Borchers, General Partner, Opus Capital, a mobile and consumer marketing veteran with more than 20 years operating experience, Bob Borchers comes to Opus Capital from Apple, Inc (NASDAQ: AAPL) where he served as Sr. Director of Worldwide Product Marketing for the iPhone. At Opus Borchers is focused on investments in mobile applications and services as well as adjacent opportunities in both hardware and software. As part of the original iPhone team, Bob was instrumental in the development, launch and global expansion of the revolutionary iPhone, iPhone OS, App Store and the recent launch of the iPhone 3GS. While at Apple he also led the Nike+iPod partnership, expanded the iPod accessory ecosystem, and forged relationships with every major auto company to provide iPod integration. Prior to Apple, Bob was Vice President of Marketing at FusionOne, a pioneer in creating and marketing mobility solutions. Bob also spent six years at Nokia where he co-founded and served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for the Vertu business unit. Prior to his tenure at Vertu, Bob held several senior-level marketing positions at Nokia Mobile Phones where he successfully positioned the mobile phone as both a technology and lifestyle product. Before his career in the mobile industry, Bob worked for Nike, Inc. in Beaverton, Oregon, where he led efforts in product and service personalization. He began his career doing research and development in prosthetics. Bob holds a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University and a Masters Degree from a joint program between the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the Harvard Medical School in Health Sciences and Technology. He has more than 30 patents granted or pending.
 
Tim Danford, Managing Director, Storm Ventures, joined Storm Ventures from Cisco Systems, where he was a technology leader in the Business Development organization. Tim worked with senior executives to develop strategies for entering new markets and was responsible for developing technology strategy, identifying opportunities and working with business development managers to execute investment, partnering and acquisition transactions. During Tim’s 6-year tenure at Cisco, he played a key role in developing Cisco’s wireless strategy. The implementation of this wireless strategy resulted in the acquisition of JetCell, where Tim was the primary technology interface, as well as the acquisition of Exio, where Tim worked closely with the founders as they were exiting Hyundai and developing their product. Tim also worked closely with senior executives to develop and build Cisco’s Enterprise VoIP Business Unit, which resulted in the acquisition of Selsius and the implementation of the Cisco AVVID product lines. Tim was awarded the first prestigious Technology Pioneer award by Cisco’s CTO for his contributions to the founding VoIP team. Prior to Tim’s contributions to Cisco’s VoIP technology he managed a team responsible for competitive analysis of ATM networking equipment, and he worked closely with the Lightspeed team after their acquisition. Tim supported Cisco’s early sales efforts and customers as a Systems Engineer designing and building large router networks. Tim has over 18 years of extensive Internetworking and Telecommunications experience gained while working at Cisco Systems, Synoptics and Ameritech Information Systems.
 
Jeff Smith, Co-founder and CEO, Smule, a leading developer of iPhone applications that became an instant success . Jeff is also currently pursuing a PhD in Computer Music at Stanford University. He previously received a BS in Computer Science at Stanford University a couple decades ago. In between Stanford and Stanford, Jeff co-founded and ran an email security software company which he took public on the Nasdaq and grew to $50M in sales before stepping down as CEO. Jeff is the co-author of sixteen patents in the field of email security.
 
Guy Goldstein, Co-founder and CEO PageOnce, brings over 16 years of experience in all aspects of technology, product development, management and strategy. Prior to Pageonce, Guy served in an executive position of Corporate Development at HP software, responsible for mergers, acquisitions and strategy. Before that, Guy spent 9 years in various R&D executive roles at Mercury Interactive. Guy holds a bachelor's degree in Business and computer science, cum laude, from the Tel-Aviv University. Guy served in the Israeli Air Force as a major and fighter pilot.
